UniSA extends the deadline for student assignments

For the 2023 academic year, a number of state universities, including the University of South Africa, extended their registration deadlines. The first assignments for those students who registered during this time frame have been extended.

The Department of Higher Education and Training announced before the start of the academic year that registration deadlines will be extended to accommodate students who will be enrolling in a higher education institution for the first time.

Despite the fact that each institution has its own registration schedule, students should be aware of it.

In rare cases, the university or institution extends its registration period to take into account late registrations or individuals who had trouble enrolling as efficiently as feasible.

The deadline for first semester registration for undergraduate credentials, honors degrees, and postgraduate diplomas was extended to 10 February 2023 by the University of South Africa (Unisa), following suit.

Some students might not have been able to start their studies or turn in their first assignment of the academic year because of the late registrations.

However, the university has announced the following In a statement:

“Affected students will receive accommodations with regard to assignment one submissions in accordance with institutional policy regarding late registrations.”

The first assignment should be turned in as soon as feasible because there will be no more extensions.

Students who successfully turned in their initial assignment already are not included, according to Unisa.

If the qualification a student registers for at Unisa is for non-degree purposes and the student gets written consent from the other university allowing concurrent registration, they are only permitted to register concurrently at Unisa and another university.

The written authorization should have been filed at the same time as the Unisa application and registration.

Registration is still open for students who intend to study postgraduate degrees, postgraduate certificates, master’s degrees, and doctoral degrees through 31 March 2023.
