Sassa Makes Changes To May 2023 Grant Payment Dates

Sassa notified that the award payment schedule for the month of May has changed as of Friday morning. It is crucial for recipients to be aware of their Sassa grant payment dates in advance.

With it nearing the time where The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) grant payment collections will take place, beneficiaries are taking note of the upcoming Sassa grant payment dates. Sassa recently made changes to the upcoming Sassa grant payment schedule.

Sassa issued the following statement early on Friday:

“All recipients of social grants are thus informed of significant changes to the payment schedule for May 2023 by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA).”

For May, the most recent Sassa grant payment schedule is as follows:

  • Older Persons Grants: 4 May 2023
  • Disability Grants: 5 May 2023
  • Children’s Grants: 8 May 2023

Sassa previously released the Sassa grant payment dates for 2023/24 and has made it clear that, as of right now, these changes are the only ones taking place.

Sassa continued, “In case there are any changes on the payment schedule, Sassa will communicate in due course.”

Instead of withdrawing all of their Sassa funds, the organization has advised recipients to utilize their cards to make purchases. In addition, Sassa has stated that recipients shouldn’t rush to withdraw their money.

The message said, “Furthermore, social grant beneficiaries are requested to have patience and not rush to withdraw their money from their accounts, as their money will stay available in their accounts until they are ready to withdraw.

Beneficiaries need not be concerned if they are unable to withdraw funds in the first few days after Sassa grant payments have been made because they will always be allowed to do so, according to Sassa.

The organization apologized for any trouble or annoyance these adjustments may have brought on for award recipients as they put an end to their statement.

Paying for Sassa Grants

A number of retail locations, including Pick ‘n Pay, Boxer, Usave, Shoprite, and Checkers, are available for grant recipients to pick up their funds.

Beneficiaries also have the option to instruct Sassa to deposit their grant money straight into their bank account. Given that they can access their money whenever they want, this option appeals to many beneficiaries.
